Das Basler-Design aus Aluminium, im Breitformat von 9 x 4 cm ist das einzige Fahrradkennzeichen nach 1933 ohne Relief; d.h. es ist v\u00f6llig flach. Ausserdem f\u00e4llt es durch seinen besonderen Glanz auf. Nebst den Kantonen Basel-Land (1944-1950) und Basel-Stadt (1944-1951), welche dem Design den Namen gaben, wurde es auch drei Jahre lang vom Kanton Schafhausen verwendet (1947-1949).<\/p>\n

Basel-Stadt ist m\u00f6glicherweise der erste Kanton, der nebst den Velonummern auch Spezialschilder ausgibt. Auf jeden Fall bringt Basel schweizweit eine un\u00fcbertroffene Varianten-Vielfalt hervor. In den Jahren 1942 bis 1951 gibt der Kanton jedes Jahr drei verschiedene Kennzeichen-Varianten aus; eine f\u00fcr Velos, eine f\u00fcr Fahrradanh\u00e4nger und ein spezielles Schild f\u00fcr Veloh\u00e4ndler [BILDER]<\/a>. Ab dem Jahr 1944 erscheinen s\u00e4mtliche Varianten im \u00abBasler-Design\u00bb.<\/p>\n

Nebst den tats\u00e4chlich ausgegebenen Spezialschildern, sind in der Sammlung auch noch eine Reihe von Prototypen zu sehen, welche der Produzent, die Firma Aquametro AG, in Basel als Vorschl\u00e4ge hergestellt hat.<\/p>\n
